You need to make plans to see someone on a Tuesday because having a guaranteed fun activity in the middle of the week will keep you sane and give you something to look forward to. And let’s face it, we all need something to look forward to during the work week.
You need someone in your life who excites you, makes you nervous, and forces you to question what you think you already know. We want someone who’s challenging, who we can’t figure out, and can tell us that we’re full of crap. We need someone to get us off the internet and remind us that real life is much more fun. And it’s okay to be unsure and nervous because that just means we’re alive again.
We need stressful days in order to be happy. We need to always be working towards something in order to feel useful and have a sense of purpose. We need days when we get zero sleep and are working tirelessly on a deadline. Because if we didn’t, the lazy days wouldn’t feel good.
We need family. Whether it be in the traditional sense of the word or the kind of family we create on our own when we get older, we need to feel like we belong somewhere. Otherwise, we would permanently feel like a raw exposed nerve that could just disappear at any given moment.
And last, but certainly not least, we need to like ourselves in order to be happy.
My kpop obsession is coming back again (prob because of snsd doing their comeback and yg doing their yg family concert which I can’t NOT get excited about. please come out on dvd SOOON). Though technically this is the japanese version ghfhghfhg. This song is on my overall top played tracks which is ridiculous since it’s hard for any one song to get on there since I get sick of songs pretty quickly. Can’t wait till the full mv comes out (even though GD looks ridicks…which is SADLY why yb > gd at this point. I’ll even forgive yb’s dyed hair what even).
I may sound old-fashioned, but I want to think all women should be treated like I want my wife, daughters, and granddaughters to be treated. I notice today that good manners—like standing up when a woman enters the room, helping a woman with her coat, letting her enter an elevator first, taking her arm to cross the street—are sometimes considered unnecessary or a throwback. These are habits I could never break, nor would I want to. I realize today a lot more women are taking care of themselves than in the past, but no woman is offended by politeness.
There comes a point in your life, when you’re officially an adult. Suddenly, you’re old enough to vote, drink and engage in other adult activities. Suddenly, people expect you to be responsible, serious, a grown-up. We get taller, we get older. But do we ever really grow up?
